Welcome to you all!  I AM Mrs. Gen-X and I hope you enjoy your stay here on my blog.  I plan to explore just how life has changed from those teenage angst years to our “responsible” adulthood.  We will look at those good old days of headbanging to Megadeth before Megadeth was political, how many times have we all been divorced, and at those baby boomers before us that are now REALLY trying to run our country.

 First, I have to acknowledge that today is September 11.  I can remember exactly what I was doing that day.  I was cooking an omlet with Bryant Gumble on tv behind me.  I heard him say a plane had just crashed into one of the towers.  Speculation swirled as to whether it was an accident or not until the second one hit.  I turned around quick enough to see the flames shooting out the other side of the building.  We were in shock and horror at what was unfolding………..

Later that day, Irealized my period should’ve started a few days before, but didn’t.  I went to the store and got a test and found out I was pregnant.  I didn’t know how to feel-sooooo many dead, so tragically, all at once, twice, and then in the collapse of the towers.  But, I had to have faith that my child would be born.  And she was, and she is terrific!! 

My brother is in Iraq on his third tour.  He is an MP teaching the Iraqi’s how to have their own police force.  He is scheduled to come home next month-FOR GOOD.

Now, on to us.  I am 36, with three children, and on my second husband.  My oldest, a son, has Asperger’s which is and autistic disorder.  He’s in 3rd grade.  My forementioned daughter is in 1st, and I have a 2 1/2 year old girl with my current husband. 

I am a stay at home mom, a Harley mom-NOT a soccer mom!  I do ride my own, and I drive a Charger. (My husband, the salesman, and I all sat in the back seat to make sure three kids would fit!)   I REFUSE to drive a minivan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I have to go start dinner now, so, I shall leave you with this- always watch where you’re sitting…………………..
